William Marsden. The agent of the late Mr. Ramsay has asked for dispensation for the affidavit mentioned in his letter, to enable him to receive his pay as Purser of the Chapman armed ship. Reminds the Admiralty that the order of February 1737 expects the Pursers, ships' stewards and Captain's Clerks to keep strict control over stores on board ships. Given the circumstances of Mr. Ramsay's death, ask whether it is proper to dispense with their order.
