Description

Mr. Iron, Falmouth to the Board. Following the contract with William Crow of Dover, he went to Falmouth to fit out the Nile. He found Lieutenant George Fennell in command there, who before leaving for Plymouth received orders from Captain Norway to anchor near the Tromp to receive pressed men for Plymouth. Captain Norway instead took 15 men from the Nile, on the grounds that they were no longer Sea Fencibles. Captain James, who commanded the Sea Fencibles, advised him that Captain Norway was legally able to take the 15 men. Mr. Iron asks for help as the Nile cannot work without the impressed men.
