Description

William Marsden. Mr. Kinnett has proposed an improvement to ships' keels, which has been discussed with the Surveyors. They agree with their decision that there would be no advantage in making the change as current practice of fitting false keels produces acceptable results. There might be a disadvantage if cables are damaged. Experiments on these lines with HM yachts were discontinued.
