Description

William Marsden. Receipt of orders to survey the Scourge on the slip at Sheerness and a report is being sent. Are concerned about the state of the ship as it was only purchased recently on the recommendation of the Officers at Deptford and Woolwich. When ships are bought from other owners it is possible only to report on what has been seen, as the owners will not allow boring to take place to discover defects.
