William Marsden. Captain Charles Gregory has asked for dispensation for papers to enable him to pass his accounts for the time he acted as Commander of the Amphitrite. He was appointed as supernumerary in January 1801 by Rear Admiral Duckworth, and the appointment was still open at the end of February. He is not shown on the subsequent muster book but the substantive Captain then returned to the ship, who passed an account for Gregory's service. Recommend he is paid by bill for the time that he acted.
