Evan Nepean. Portsmouth officers have surveyed Retribution and have found that pieces of her false keel are off, that she makes 24 inches of water an hour, and that there are problems with her seams, iron fastenings, beams and chain bolts. It will be necessary to take her into dock before a true estimate of her defects and the costs of rectifying them can be made.
