Folio 119. Letter from George Spencer, Clerk to the Guardians of the Keighley Poor Law Union, to the Poor Law Board acknowledging the receipt of their letter dated 7 May [15139/1852] requesting that they be informed of the names, districts and salaries of the medical officers of health in the union and at which meetings of the guardians they were appointed. They wish to inform the board that at the meeting of the board on 14 April the late medical officers were again appointed for the year ending 26 March 1853, for the same districts and at the same salaries as the past year. These are-Mr John Mulligan: Keighley district comprising Keighley, Steeton and Sutton. Salary £55. Also the medical officer for the Keighley workhouse, £5. Total £60 Mr John Dickson: Bingley district comprising Bingley and Morton. Salary £45. Also medical officer for Bingley workhouse, £5. Total £50 Mr Edward South Hall: Haworth district comprising the township of Haworth. Salary £26. As well as the fees mentioned in the medical order they were also appointed vaccinators of their respective districts at the sum of 9d for each successful case of vaccination.
