Folios 53-54. Draft letter from the Poor Law Commission to George Spencer, Clerk to the Guardians of the Keighley Poor Law Union, stating that the request for a salary increase due to the son leaving the residence is declined, because the arrangement made was an improper one. However, they ask if the guardians will agree to a resolution that a salary of £31 per year for the workhouse master is agreeable, and if so, they will take this into consideration. Paper Number: 3309/B/1847. Poor Law Union Number 571. Counties: Yorkshire West Riding.
