Folios 338-339. Workhouse Inspection Report Form from Mr W H T Hawley, Poor Law Inpsector, reporting his inspection of the Southampton Incorporation workhouse on 10 February 1854 includes details of medical provision, management of the school, the vagrant wards, the number of inmates. He notes that there has been a marked increase in the number of aged and infirm inmates since his previous visit in September 1853. Paper Number: 5894/1854. Poor Law Union Number 407.
