- Folio 188. Draft letter from the Poor Law Commission to Thomas Dryden, Auditor of the Truro Poor Law Union. They inform him that they have learned from the Reverend John Lloyd Lugger, Rector of Tregony, that Dryden ordered his parish officers to stop paying interest on the parish's debt to Mr Ball [Nicholas Ball, citing directions from the Commission. The Commission are unaware of any such directions and ask him for an explanation. As they cannot reply to Lugger until they hear from Dryden, they request a prompt reply. Annotated: W G L [William Golden Lumley, Assistant Secretary to the Poor Law Commission]. Paper Number: 8140/A/1841. Poor Law Union Number 57. Counties: Cornwall.
