- Folio 169. Draft letter from the Poor Law Commission to the churchwardens and overseers of Tregony parish, informing them that they have been applied to, on behalf of Nicholas Ball, who has a claim against their parish for £100, the balance of a loan that was made to them. The auditor has objected to payment of interest on the loan, as it is not a legal charge. Regardless of its legality, the Commission think that the loan can be liquidated out of the proceeds of the sale of the workhouse and want to know if the parish intends to do this. Annotated: to inform Mr Coryton Kempe [William Coryton Kempe] that the Commission have written to the parish officers, concerning Ball's claim.
