1 individual petition (the prisoner) on behalf of David Evans convicted at Carmarthen Quarter Sessions in Michaelmas 1823 of rescue. Letter from Albert Badger and two letters from John Murell forwarding the petition and enquiring about the case. Grounds for clemency: wife and three children under eight years of age in great distress. Cannot pay fine and has been imprisoned for nine months. Asks to be released so he can support his family. Initial sentence: fined £20 and three months' imprisonment Annotated: recommend to Treasury 13 August 1824. Letter to Treasury 16 August 1824. MK15
