Grounds for clemency: previous good character. Earned an honest livelihood for himself, wife and six children. Committed act in an unguarded moment. Asks to remain in the country so that his wife and children will not be reduced to poverty and distress. Initial sentence: 7 years transportation. Annotated:' Nil.' MH42
