- Folios 263-264. Letter from R Barker [Richard Barker] and James L Barker, Clerks to the Guardians of the Tynemouth Poor Law Union, to the Poor Law Commission, concerning the appointments of people to make the new valuations of Newsham and South Blyth for the purposes of the new Parochial Act. They request the Commission to approve the appointments of John Holdroyd, Chirton Hill, Farmer and Isaac Brown, Seghill, Farmer and Agent, to value the lands and that Thomas King, Morpeth, Builder and William Haswell, Morpeth, Builder to value the house and tenement property. An extract from the minutes of the Tynemouth Poor Law Union, on 16 August 1838, to this effect is enclosed. Annotated: enquire the terms on which the people have been engaged. Paper number: 6281/B/1838. Poor Law Union Number 333. Counties: Northumberland.
