- Folios 221-222. Letter from R Barker [Richard Barker] and James L Barker, Clerks to the Guardians of the Tynemouth Poor Law Union, to the Poor Law Commission, concerning the appointment of an assistant overseer for the township of Tynemouth, in which they ask the commissioners to approve and confirm the appointment of Samuel James Tibbs. An extract from the minutes of the Tynemouth Poor Law Union, on 29 March 1838, to this effect is enclosed. Annotated: Sir John Walsham [Assistant Poor Law Commissioner], to contact the guardians to advise them on the best way to appoint new officers. Paper number: 2951/B/1838. Poor Law Union Number 333. Counties: Northumberland.
