Folios 196-198. Letter from Sir John Walsham, Tynemouth Poor Law Union, to the Poor Law Commission, concerning the inclusion of certain extra parochial places in the Durham Poor Law Union for the purposes of registration. The places concerned are The College of Durham, County Durham. The Castle Precincts, County Durham. The Gaol Precincts, County Durham. [Whitwell House, County Durham.] Reference is made to a letter dated 4 February 1837 and numbered 83, naming the above properties, which should be specified into a temporary district for registration purposes as they belong to no union. No decision was taken in February but a request is now made to include the properties into the St Nicholas District of the Durham Union. Enclosed: a copy of a letter from [John D Hays] of Durham concerning properties that should to be annexed to the St Nicholas District. Poor Law Union Number 333. Counties: Northumberland.
