Folios 29-30. Letter from W and E Willoby [William Willoby and Edward Willoby], Clerks to the Guardians of the Berwick-upon-Tweed Poor Law Union, enclosing the completed vaccination return sent to them on 2 January. They add with reference to the Commission's letter of 31 January that the superintendent registrar has provided the information for the column headed 'Number of births in each district during the year'. Enclosed is a 'Vaccination Extension Act' form listing the districts of the public vaccinators and that 323 people were vaccinated in the year ended 29 September 1844. There were 746 births in the union during the year. The clerks observe that few attend at the vaccination stations. Paper number: 1857/A/1845. Poor Law Union Number 325. Counties: Town and County of Berwick-upon-Tweed and Northumberland.
