Printed schedule from J R Tomlin [James Robinson Tomlin], Clerk to the Guardians of the reeth poor law union, to The Poor Law Board, containing proposed and elected poor law guardians for the Reeth Union. Arkengarthdale: Thomas Birkbeck, Bouldershaw, Arkendale, a farmer, a bad nomination; and George Alderson, West House, Arkendale, mining agent, refuses to serve. Ellerton Abbey, no nomination. Grinton: John Close, Low Whita, a farmer, imperfect nomination. Marrick: John Harland of Marrick, gentleman, elected. Melbeck: James Clarkson of Kearton, farmer, elected and Robert Birkbeck, Winterings, yeoman, elected. Muker: Thomas Spensley, of Muker, yeoman, bad nomination and John Alderson of Shaws, yeoman, bad nomination. Reeth: John Barker of Reeth, gentleman, elected and Thomas Blenkiron of Reeth, mining agent, elected. 12027/1852. Poor Law Union Number 555. Counties: Yorkshire North Riding.
