1 collective petition (21 people, from Great Yeldham, Essex) on behalf of James Hart, convicted at the Suffolk Quarter Sessions in Bury on 10 April 1832, for larceny. Grounds for clemency: the main culprit was Abel Hardy, Hart was in his company when the theft of a coat was committed but took no part in it, previous good character - sober and honest, comes from a very large and poor family and he was one of the wage earners. Initial sentence: 18 months imprisonment in the gaol in Bury. Annotated: nil and letter to the Reverend E W Clarke 14 September 1832. GR 33
