Folio 2: David Thomas, 'Niger' [Landsman on folio 4], aged 19; disease or hurt, pain in the side, flat tumour between the umbilicus and the os ilium, painful to the touch. Taken ill, 10 August 1797, at sea. Treatment continued folio 4. Became much worse 23 August, discharged to Plymouth Hospital, 14 September 1797 .
Folio 3: Andrew Wilson, Seaman, at sea; disease or hurt, chronic rheumatism. Taken ill, [no date] at sea. Discharged to Plymouth Hospital, 24 August 1797, by order of Dr T T.
Folio 3: Jonathan Carrot, Marine; Jonathan Cobus, Marine; Angus Colquhoon; Daniel [McLaran]; Jonathan Taylor; all cases from the previous journal in advanced states of consumption. All sent to Plymouth Hospital, 24 August 1797.
Folio 3: Thomas Parker, Seaman, a servant in the wardroom, aged 22; disease or hurt, of a consumptive habit, generally afflicted with cough, expectoration and debility. Taken ill, [no date] at sea. Discharged to Plymouth Hospital, 29 August 1797, phthisis.
Folio 3: William Tarley, Archibald McKinley, William Gardner; disease or hurt, ruptured from accident on [boat] in previous journal. Sent to Plymouth Hospital for survey, 31 August 1797.
Folio 3: William Sweet, Seaman, aged 25; disease or hurt, sprained tendon in the arm. Taken ill, 30 June, Plymouth. Sent to Plymouth Hospital for survey, 30 August.
Folio 4: David Thomas, Landsman, aged 19; disease or hurt, increased fever, difficult breathing, pain in the side and cough very troublesome. Discharged to Plymouth Hospital, 14 September 1797.
Folio 4: John Dunnivan [Dunnavan], Seaman, aged 25; disease or hurt, fever, pain in his head, sickness at stomach, cold chills. Taken ill, 1 September 1797. Discharged to Plymouth Hospital, 4 September 1797. Had been in irons for some time before becoming ill, described as 'a most mutinous scoundrel'.
Folio 5: Jonathan Hobbes, Seaman, aged 20; disease or hurt, fell on one of the guns by which he bruised his penis, with 'compleat [paraphysis]', much swelled and painful, stricture and difficulty in making water. Taken ill, 21 August 1797, off Ushant. Discharged to duty 29 August 1797.
Folio 5: Maurice [Morris] Brenan, Seaman, aged 24; disease or hurt, pain in the [regio........ealis], with headache, nausea, loss of appetite, symptoms of general debility. Taken ill, 1 September 1797, off Ushant. Further treatment folio 19. Is given much to irregularity particularly drinking.
Folio 6: Charles Derrick, aged 27; disease or hurt, swelling and inflammation of the great toe. Taken ill, 1 September 1797. Linament continued and ordered to wear flannel socks, 5 September.
Folio 6: [Steven] Bryed, Seaman, aged 27; disease or hurt, left arm much swelled and inflamed about the elbow. Taken ill, 5 September 1797, Cawsand Bay. Discharged to duty 13 September 1797.
Folio 7: James Grafton, Seaman, aged 20; disease or hurt, fell on the [...] major of the left thigh, excruciating pain in the joint and incapable of moving it in any direction. Taken ill, 9 September 1797. 'Continued not well'.
Folio 7: William Billington, Quarter Master, aged 40; disease or hurt, from the [...] to the [...] an inflammatory swelling of a [...] colour attended with severe pain. Taken ill, 7 September 1797. Discharged to the Medusa, 13 September 1797, fever.

Folio 9: Robert Blisdate, Quarter Master, aged 30; disease or hurt, right testicle considerably swelled and inflamed. Taken ill, 1 October 1797. Discharged to duty 12 October 1797.
Folio 9: Jacob Warfield, Seaman, aged 25; disease or hurt, [scalded] received contents of kettle full of boiling water on the back of his right leg. Taken ill, 8 October 1797. Discharged to duty 9 November 1797.
Folio 10: John Burrus, Seaman, aged 20; disease or hurt, sickness at stomach, loss of appetite, languor. Taken ill, 12 October 1797, at sea. Discharged to duty 18 November 1797.
Folio 10: Thomas Shiers, Seaman, aged 27; disease or hurt, tumor on the left arm from an injury from a fall. Taken ill, 13 October 1797. Discharged to duty 24 October 1797.
Folio 11: Rob Martin, Seaman, aged 16; disease or hurt, left testicle swollen and inflamed, painful to the touch. Taken ill, 16 October 1797, at sea. Discharged to duty 23 October 1797. Remarks that there have been numerous minor complaints from no particular cause, all have been easily treated.
Folio 11: Richard Horrigan, Marine, aged 24; disease or hurt, severe griping pains in his belly, with frequent loose stools. Taken ill, 16 October 1797. Discharged to duty 24 October. Relapses and sent to Plymouth Hospital, 7 November 1797.
Folio 11: Emanuel Baptiste, 'Niger', Seaman, aged 40; disease or hurt, severe griping pains, with frequent loose stools. Taken ill, 18 October 1797. Treatment continued on folio 13. Discharged to duty 16 November 1797.
Folio 12: Charles McCall, aged 17; disease or hurt, severe pain in his left side, particularly on inspiration. Taken ill, 20 October 1797, at sea. Discharged to duty [no date recorded].
Folio 12: Patrick Coccoran, Seaman, aged 30; disease or hurt, the forearm and joint of the elbow affected by a [suppural] and rather diffused inflammation of a shining [rosy] colour which disappears on the slightest touch. Taken ill, 1 November 1797, at sea. Discharged to duty 15 December 1797.
Folio 13: Emanuel Baptiste, further treatment and discharge to duty 16 November 1797. Remarks that there have been no illnesses of interest, just colds and slight rheumatic affections.

Folio 14: Jonathan Taylor, Private [Marine], aged 46; disease or hurt, scorbutic ulcers on his legs. Taken ill, 3 December 1797, [Hamoaze]. Discharged to [Canton] Hospital Ship, Plymouth, 3 December 1797.
