William Wesley Pole. Admiral Sir Henry E Stanhope has forwarded a letter from Captain Rogers of the Thisbe stating that the Clerk of the Cheque at Deptford has refused to pay the reward allowed for apprehending deserters and concealed seamen to a Sergeant and party of Marines belonging to the Thisbe, because they were granted to persons belonging to the ship. Give the provisions of HM Proclamation of 6 Feb 1805 and Admiralty Board Orders of 26 April 1805, 17 Oct 1805 and 26 Feb 1806 regarding payment of rewards. Ask for directions whether persons belonging to or serving in HM ships are entitled to rewards, and if not, what expenses should be paid to them. By Admiralty Order of 14 Oct 1805, officers belonging to HM ships at Antigua are repaid such expenses.
