Copy letter from Commissioner Brown at Sheerness Yard. Am enclosing a plan and letters sent to me showing high tide and gale damage sustained at this yard. Spears have drifted from the Mast Pond in all directions over and on the bank, between Blue Town and Queensborough, and some nearly a mile up the marshes. Consequent damage to the wall is being assessed. Asks for speedy measures to be taken to secure the Yard, as a further high tide and gale would destroy the greater part of the wharfs and could crack the buildings, as in places the foundations have given way. Rear Admiral Wills is giving every assistance..
