Description (What the record is about)
-
George Rose from the Board. The Admiralty have ordered that salaries of the Clerks in the Admiralty offices shall be paid clear of all deductions except Property Tax. Gives the deductions and disadvantages of the various methods of deducting tax. Propose that all bills for salaries are paid to your office without deduction, except for Property Tax, and that the salaries of Officers and Clerks in the dockyards paid on the yard books and that certificates or lists of amounts payable for the civil list, are prepared here. Propose that this plan is applied to salary bills and bills made out for pensions. The objection makes an argument for simplifying the present system. Further abatements in deductions and the new regulations will take effect for salaries and pensions due 25th December.
