William Marsden. Thomas Wood, Gunner of the Hannibal says he was appointed to her from the Canada in December 1805 but could not join her and was ordered on the St. George for passage to Plymouth and was discharged in May 1806. He then went to Portsmouth to take up his warrant for the Hannibal. Asks for an order to bear him on the books of the Hannibal for personal pay from February to May 1806. It is contrary to the rules of the service to enter any warrant officer for wages in a ship until he is on board. As Mr. Wood was prevented from leaving the Canada, his successor not arriving to supersede him, ask whether he may not be entered for wages in the Hannibal from day of his discharge from the Canada
