Description (What the record is about)
-
Philip Stephens. Commodore Mackenzie, Commander in Chief in the River Medway, has applied for an allowance of stationery for carrying on the service. There is no precedent for allowing stationery from this office to the Commanding Officer in the River Medway. Commodores Proby and Gambier were charged on their contingent accounts and sent to the Admiralty with an application to be allowed the same. If it is thought proper to make an allowance in future for the Commanding Officer in the river Medway, submit whether £10 per annum is sufficient, which is more than what is allowed the Commissioners at Chatham
