Philip Stephens. Commissioner Sir Frederick Rogers informs us that he had a complaint sometime since of the Boatswain of the Mermaid embezzling HM stores but was not then able to prove the charge and only admonished him to better behaviour. The Masters Attendant have been informed of his still going on in the same manner, so a survey has been taken of his stores, which were found deficient. He and the Cook have made a confession and the Cook has been dismissed. Ask whether the Boatswain should be dismissed, likewise
