Description

Philip Stephens. Mrs. Mathews, widow of Lieutenant Mathews, is in difficulty with his accounts for the Racehorse tender. We have no accounts here of his disbursements on raising men and as he belonged to a ship, the Augusta, and was on that service in a tender, it is not understood how he could be under the necessity of making any disbursements. Until the vouchers have been sent in and we have seen his orders we cannot advise what should be done.
