Lieutenant Charles Hope of the Pearl has reported his agent tells him his pay as Lieutenant of the ship from October to December last is stopped at the Pay Office because another Officer has been paid as Lieutenant for that time and asks for orders for his being paid his full pay. How he stands on the books. As he was the proper Lieutenant and absent on duty, opine he should be paid on the books and Mr. Eagar should be allowed wages as Lieutenant for the time he acted and must be paid by bill
