Description (What the record is about)
-
Philip Stephens. Captain Brereton has replied to our report on his claim for disbursements made by Richard Dod, when trying to procure dammah and oil at Manila in October 1763, as advanced and certified by Captain Peighen. Assure the Admiralty that they did scrutinise the accounts when Richard Dod was alive. Explain the difficulty lies with the lack of dollars in Manila. Opine that neither Mr. Dod or any other should be a loser but we wish that all transactions of this nature were stated at once in the accounts when they happen. Whether Mr. Dod's executor should or should not be relieved must be at the direction of their Lordships
