Philip Stephens. George Day has applied to be paid for the 3 months he acted as Gunner of the Winchelsea, by order of Captain Hale. How he is borne on the books. James Wilson, the preceding Gunner is discharged on the 2nd December 1757 but is unpaid and has quit the Service at the time of his appointment on the 7th September 1757. Opine Wilson should be discharged the day preceding Day's entry and Day should be borne and paid on the books for the time he acted.
