Date

Description

John Clevland. James Samson, late Purser of the Maidstone, asks for dispensation for his victualling book so his accounts may be passed. The last records were received in February 1746 and May 1747 from the Maidstone and the ship was lost a month after that. If the Purser had a complete muster book up to that date and is prepared to swear to its truth, we would have no objection to giving dispensation for the victualling book
