Thomas Corbett. Have received a petition from the 7 Ropemakers, who lately absented themselves from the Ropeyard at Plymouth. They were impressed on some of HM ships. They beg pardon and promise obedience for the future. Ask that they are discharged. Have asked Commissioner Vanbrugh to enquire into their behaviour and he informs us that Nicholas Webb, James Taylor and James Webb were the ringleaders in the late misbehaviour and the others not so forward. Opine they should be detained on the ships where they now are and the others discharged to return to their work
