Sir Charles Hedges to Burchett in the case of the French ship Phoenix, which was captured by the privateers Hannibal and Hampton, ransomed by them and given licence to fish and was later captured by HMS Jersey. Hedges rules this to be lawful prize, as privateers are not permitted to ransom or give licences.
