Folios 149-150. A letter from Mr G H Rose, Caffnell, Lyndhurst, [Hampshire], suggesting the Chelsea Pensioners should be put under orders of the magistrates and then sworn in as special constables. He then refers to Christchurch and [Barton Stacey], and an additional party of men armed with [---], pistols, bayonets and cutlasses, to form a larger body with the Chelsea Pensioners, who would have fire arms.
He refers also to raising other volunteers and militia bodies. He makes reference to Mr Mills and Mr Compton, magistrates, leading a body of special constables at West Park, with a reference to Mr Cootes.
