Report of W F Boteler, Recorder of Sandwich on John Bevan and James Gimber convicted at the Sandwich General Sessions in December 1820 for the theft of shells value 30-40/- property of Mr Moulden. Evidences supplied by Thomas Goldfinch, fisherman. There is a covering letter from Botelar. Grounds for clemency: youth. Initial sentence: 7 years transportation. Recommendation: remittance of the remaining part of their sentence. Annotated: '11 April 1822, to be pardoned'. Folios 136-138.
