Contents: correspondence concerning a) publication of An idea and its servants: UNESCO from within (1978) (ISBN 0701123710) and An English temper: essays on education, culture and communications (1982) (0701125810) and b) rights in these and others of his works. Includes: 32 letters and 3 pcs from Hoggart and 13 from his secretary; 9 letters and a telegram from Oxford University Press, publishers of the books in the United States of America; 2 letters from Kate Cary who designs the dust jacket for An English temper; p27 from The Observer of 21/2/82 carrying an article by Hoggart marking 25 years since the publication of his book The uses of literature; a copy of "The mass media: a new colonialism?" by Hoggart (the 8th STC Communication Lecture - 1978); and other papers.
