Description

William Owen of Woodhouse Esq. and William Mostyn Owen of Woodhouse, captain in the 1st or Royal Dragoons, his eldest son and heir TO Thomas Bulkeley Owen of Tedsmore Esq.

Copy articles of agreement for exchange of

1. a farm called Shelvock (tenant John Morris) with 310 acres land, Hanley Hall, Elbridge House and 273 acres land, a tenement in Tedsmore called the Wigmarsh, a field near the Grimpo (13½a) part of John Wickley's farm in Haughton viz the Pustel, Broadhouse Long, the Slang, Grimpo field, Clem Park (33½ a in all) the Wood Leasow (part of Haughton Farm in West Felton) and 9 acres land, cottage and garden, Cooks Pieces (42 a) in the parishes of Ruyton and West Felton (subject to reservation of mines for 99 years).

2. Rednall in West Felton (205 a), messuages in Haughton as marked on parish map of West Felton.

The property is to be surveyed and valued before exchange.

A messuage in Sutton called Hamptons House, parish of West Felton, is to be conveyed at a price to be fixed by the valuer.

For their temporary accommodation until the exchange is complete, the first parties agree to lease to T.B.O. land at Haughton and Tedsmore (35 acres) which is part of the land to be exchanged; and the 2nd party agrees to lease to them land in Rednall called Yew Tree Croft (37 acres).

William Owen and his son are to be allowed to cut a road out of the Sutton Road into the Oswestry-Shrewsbury turnpike; Thomas Bulkeley Owen is to be allowed to close a road on the SE front of his house at Tedsmore; either party may turn the road from the Grimpo to Eardiston as agreed.

A small corner is to be cut out of the Lownit Leasow at Haughton to straighten the Haughton-Grimpo road.

If the Baggymoor meadows (48½ a) come into the possession of the 1st parties during the life of Mrs. Sarah Salusbury of Denbigh, they shall lease them to the 2nd party during her life for a fair rent.

Thomas Bulkeley Owen is not to exchange or sell the Wood Leasow to anyone except the Hon. Thomas Kenyon of Pradoe or his heirs, or the 1st parties.
