Statutory measure for corn and grain, known as the Winchester measure, to be advertised, and the support of magistrates requested for its enforcement under various Acts as quoted [see QS/1/3/366-8]; persons appointed to make returns of market prices asked to report any offenders.

[See QS/1/3/394,395] As a consequence of the removal by the Sheriff of the turnpike gate, the Truro turnpike trustees had instituted proceedings against John Carpenter, gent., Under-Sheriff and ? Trounce, his assistant; case to be defended at County cost.

Appeal by James Walker, John Peters, William Prideaux, Jeffery Dingle, John Bowhay and William Crabb, jun., against poor-relief assessment for Callington for 1771, made by John Kinsman, churchwarden, and Robert Burt and Edward Wilkey, jun., overseers of the poor, and alleging that proper notice of such assessment had not been given in the parish church; Robert Burt and Edward Wilkey appeared at the sessions, and testified that the rating assessment was not in their custody, but was in that of John Kinsman, who had actually made the assessment, but who was not at the sessions.

Thomas Sargent, sen., of Pelynt, and William Cowling of Lansallos, accused of several misdemeanours against John Mutton of Talland: acquitted.
Martin Sholl of Truro; assault and misdemeanour against Thomas Evans: fined 5s.; and on a further charge of assault against George Halls, to which he pleaded guilty: fined 5s.
John Honey, Andrew Harper and Henry Hocking, all of Redruth; assault and battery of William Cock, confessed: fined 6d. each.
As a result of the bridewell being used to hold prisoners for capital offences, the gaol not being deemed a place of safety, the salary of the bridewell keeper to be increased to £28 p.a.

Surveyors to repair Draw Bridge St Tearth [?] Bridge, Lanlew [?] Bridge, Trussell Bridge, and part of Helscott Bridge within the county, Resprynn Bridge and Lostwithiel Bridge; and St Neot Bridge be deemed, in future a County bridge.
A reward of five guineas to be paid for information leading to the apprehension and conviction of offenders who damage County bridges.
The general Quarter Sessions to be held in future on the Wednesday of every sessions week at 11 a.m., and to be advertised 'in the Sherborne paper'.
The gaol and marshalsea rates to be levied and paid to the Vice-treasurer; a new levy warrant to be sent to the High Constable of Kerrier.
