Recitals:- mortgage, 11 November 1860, between John Ruthven and George Ruthven of premises subject to mortgage securities of George Willman

- Release, 2 August 1861 by George Willman of premises to John Ruthven and discharge of mortgage

- Mortgage, with further charge, 12 November 1862, by John Ruthven to George Ruthven in sum of £1040 15s. with additional charge of £19 5s. omitted from the document

- Will of John Ruthven, 26 February 1853, appointing sons George and John, and John Knight Archer trustees and executors of his real estate to let same and pay rents thereof to his wife for life and after her death to sell property and pay off any mortgage debts

- Death of John Ruthven, junior, 25 July 1869

- Resignation from trust, 9 March 1870, of John Knight Archer

- Death of George Ruthven, 12 September 1871, intestate, having Herbert Frederick Peel Ruthven, his eldest son and heir and letters of administration granted to Emily Ruthven, 29 July 1872

- (1) Agrees to sell premises to (4)

Premises: all that messuage or dwelling house with garden privy and joint use along with owner of adjoining property of ash pit belonging being 8 Castle Park Terrace, formerly Barony Hill

Condition: (3) to pass and repass over piece of land lately sold by (1) and (2) to (4) from Kendal and Sedbergh Turnpike Road to back doors of dwellinghouse

Consideration: £500 to be paid in part satisfaction of mortgage debt of £1,065 2s. 7d

Witnesses: M Downing, Henry Dobson, solicitor's clerk to John Bolton, Kendal
