Red half-leather bound album measuring 360x275mm, containing snapshots mostly mounted four to a page, with captions written in pencil beneath. Title as above stamped in gilt on front cover. The album binding is somewhat fragile, with cloth on the sides lifting and spine weak. Prints 1-18 of this numerical sequence are in Photo 1083/12. The album continues the documentation of the Younghusband Mission to Tibet from Photo 1083/12 and covers the period from the end of January 1904 (at Phari) up to the crossing of the Tsang-Po (Brahmaputra) at Chaksam on 25 July. It includes the battle at Guru on 31 March 1904, when over 600 Tibetans were killed, road making across the Tang La, scenes at the mission headquarters at Tuna, the actions at Samada on 6 April and at the Zamtung Gorge on 10 April and the entry into Gyangtse on 11 April and negotiations there with Chinese commissioners.
