-letter from Gerald Agnew, dated 6 Jul 1932, concerning the attributions of two works, one thought to be by either William Marlow (1740-1813) or William Hodges (1744-1797), the other entitled 'The Gipsy's Children' by either John Opie (1761-1807) or James Northcote (1746-1831)

-letter from Oppé to Rev. Padre Anselmo Albareda, Vatican Library, dated 29 Jun 1950, concerning his recent visit to view the Ashby Collection. Also in includes a reply, dated 21 July 1950 [in French]

-letter from Boyd Alexander, dated 10 Mar 1955, concerning several queries, including one about the artist, Thomas Phillips (1770-1845), and another about the auction of Lord Battersea's collection

-letter from T.W. Bacon, brother of Hickman Bacon, dated 19 April 1945, concerning his brother's death and the inheritance of his collection.
