On fos. 1 - 80 translations by Thomas Damet of royal grants of privilege to the town and copies of documents relating to legal causes and to the government and liberties of the town. Colophon on fo. 80 'Iste liber collectus et translatus per me Thomam Damet burgensem huius ville anno salutis nostre. 1580. Reipublice et libertatis Causa et amore! Ten leaves inserted between fo. 66 and fo. 67 for translation by Damet of royal letters patent of 1608. Leaves following fo. 80 added as occasion arose for new letters patent, Acts of Parliament, and Counsel's Opinions to be entered, the last dated 1726
