Description (What the record is about)
-
This passage of text contains De la Moulinière's discussion of Hobbes's views on the relation between church and state. It is headed "Les scribes et pharisiens sont assis en la cheze de moyse faittes tout ce qu'ils vous commanderont . There is script on both sides of the sheet probably in De la Moulinière's hand. It makes reference to Sorbière, and Noel Malcom in "The Correspondence of Thomas Hobbes" suggests that this was an enclosure with a letter from Samuel Sorbière to Hobbes, sent from Paris. Dated 31 December 1659; the covering letter no longer survives.
