Title
Letter from Banbury to Mr S Deverell
Date
1804
Description

A cordial letter. Refers to discussion with HRH Duke of Clarence 'as to the entailed Burden my ancestors thought proper to leave me'. Believes he has favourable royal support in the case. Is grateful for Deverell's support, but alarmed at the likely cost. Letters required are going by wagon to his sisters. Announces birth of a son the previous day. Anticipates French invasion and is not sanguine about reliance on volunteers for defence
