Letter from Frederica at Sedbergh (Ingmire) to Rouse at Sir Offley Wakeman, Bart's, Rorrington, Lodge, Chirbury, Salop thinking of Rouse receiving Joan's letter reckons Rouse well out; angry at her curt dismissal of him

Rouse been very near to allying himself to an uncertain disposition - "saved difficult marriage" won't tell 'Aunt M'. "Her natural anxiety for Tressie sharpened her wits" knows they cannot marry but wants to prevent them falling in love. 8 October 1885
