Administrative / biographical background: The documents listed below were used in the compilation of the booklet John Haslam & Co. Ltd., 1816 - 1920, by W.H. Haslam and Miss F.E. Morris. Component parts of the firm included the Haslam Spinning Company, which carried on business at the Victory Mills, Halliwell; John Kershaw & Co., the Haslam Weaving Co., and Riverside Mills; the Bolton Heald Company; Haslams Ltd, a merchant business with a warehouse in George Street, Manchester. The Group became part of the Amalgamated Cotton Mills Trust in 1920, and is now part of Carrington Viyella Ltd.
