2 John Boys, Mathew Hadd and Henry Fynch, esqs. and others, Justices of the Peace and of the Quorum made their warrant to John Herst, then Overseer of the Poor of Thanington, to care for Agnes Smart, a vagabond, according to statute, but he refused to care for her, and trampled on the warrant.
3 Thomas Cranmer of Canterbury, gentleman, on 4th July, 1600, being Registrar of John [Whitgift] Archbishop of Canterbury, at Westgate, under colour of his office, unjustly took from Christopher Goteley of Molash, yeoman, 6s. 10d. as a fee for absolving him from his excommunication (by George Newman, doctor of laws, Commissary General of the City and Diocese of Canterbury, for not before then paying to Thomas Cranmer 4d. for a bill of recusancy which he, Christopher Goteley, had delivered in the court held at St. Margaret's, Canterbury, on 13th June [1600] before the Commissary).
4 Gilbert Spencer of Smeeth, victualler, between 1st January, 1599/1600, and 20th June, 1600, at Smeeth, kept a common tippling house without licence, and sold ale and beer.
5 Thomas Hakes of Linsted, labourer, was licensed to keep a common alehouse in Linsted, but since 21st July, 1600, he has allowed many men, both servants of his neighbours and others to play at tables and other unlawful games in his house.
6 A wooden bridge in the parish of Wye on a rivulet called the Streame, in the highway leading from Wye to Ashford since 31st March, 1600, has been in need of repair, but it is not known who should repair it.
7 William Knight of River, husbandman, on 1st March, 1599/1600, at River, chased with a dog a sow belonging to Michael Lyssenton and wounded it so that it died.
[In margin] William appearing acknowledges the indictment, submitting himself to the favour of the court. His fine assessed at 10s. Discharged.
8 William Knight of River, husbandman, on 23rd March, 1599/1600, broke and entered the close of Michael Lyssenton at River, and trod down grass to the value of 5s.

9 The inhabitants of Coldred have been accustomed from time immemorial to draw water from a pond called Brodsole in the common forstal called Cowlered Forstall in Coldred for necessary use in their houses, and to water their cattle there; but Thomas Jenkyn of Coldred, yeoman, intending to annoy them, since 1st March, 1598/9, has allowed dung, excrement and other filth from his beasts, piled in the curtilage of the house in which Henry Rochell lives in Coldred, to run into the pond with the rain falling on them, whereby the water is made corrupt and unhealthy, and the inhabitants have lost the use of it during this time.
[In margin] Penalty fixed as the allaying of the nuisance before next session under pain of 40s.
