In 1976 the churches of St.Mary, Tyndall's Park, and St.Saviour, Woolcot Park, were both declared redundant. The two parishes were united and Highbury United Reformed Church, at the top of St.Michael's Hill was purchased and created Cotham parish church. The new parish church was given the dedication St.Saviour with St.Mary.
