Lancaster SW.342 (ASZ.107 & AS Sa.1) Performance testing on the Adder with the 10' diameter nozzle was completed during the week. The mamba installation a de-icing test was carried out using the latest methanol spray arrangement but using existing water spray nozzle. Dakota KJ.839 (9ASZ.166/167). Marathon VX.231 (ASZ.117/118) New 4-bladed propellers are being fitted bfore further braking tesst are carried out. Apollo G-AIYN (ASZ.123/128/130/131) Engine ASZ.130 was removed from the aircraft for further testing after power loss. Fairey Gannet VR.546 (DM.210); Fairey Gannet VR.557 (DM.207); Fairey Gannet WE.488 (DM.205);Wyvern VP.109 (ASP.112) Test on aircraft vibration investigations were resumed this week with a special light elevator tab, but after two flights the pilot reported little change in vibration. Wyvern VW.867 (ASP.126) Flying has been carried out with assisted take-off rockets in position under the wing. The aircraft will now be sent to Boscombe Down from Merryfield to carry out tests with the ECU inoperative. Wyvern VW.868 (ASP.115) The replacement engine was installed and ground checks carried out. The aircraft was flown at the end of the week when first propeller order vibration was again experienced. Wyvern VW.876 (ASP.111) Awaiting a new cockpit. Lancastrian VM.733 (AS.Sa.98/99) The airframe and engine inspections are almost complete and the cowlings have been modified to provide easier access to the engines. Meteor WA.820 (AS. Sa.105/108) Preparation of the aircraft for the record climb attempt continued during the week. Hastings TE.583 (AS .Sa.102/104) A short ground run was carried out on each engine, but no flying has taken place. Canberra WD.933 (AS .Sa.114/115) Abnormal governor creep has been noted also the port engine rpm rising by 330 rpm at full throttle from ground level to 15,000 feet. Inconsistent governor behaviour has also been experienced on the ground on both engines
