Description

Samuel Bissaker, a Boulton Watt & Co. engine erector, died in Calcutta in 1828 while working for Rickards Macintosh & Co. His widow returned home and, under the terms of her husband’s agreement with Rickards Macintosh & Co., tried to claim an allowance for her passage home. They refused, and she turned to Boulton Watt & Co. for assistance.
